Students will learn the fundamentals of live TV broadcasting, from planning and executing shows to delivering news like real anchors, weather reporters, or sports commentators. They’ll also get a chance to operate a teleprompter or practice reading from one, gaining valuable insight into the fast-paced world of media production.

GranT Funded Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in learning more about hosting your school’s field trip with us here at Thurston Community Media! TCMedia is committed to providing our community with access to media content creation tools, providing media education classess and training, as well as providing public programming on channel 22.

We are a recipient of the Inspire Grant which has allocated funds for us to host field trips for the students of Olympia. We are passionate about media education and are hoping to continue connecting with the schools to host more field trips.

These field trips are 100% paid for by the Inspire Grant, so all TC Media’s associated costs to host these field trips are paid for and likewise, any costs incurred on the school’s end such as potentially bussing costs, can be invoiced through the Inspire grant to reimburse those funds.
