Facilities & Equipment

Thurston Community Media has a state-of-the-art media production studio, editing suites, and portable equipment that we make available to individuals and organizations so they can create noncommercial media programs for distribution through the TCMedia channels and on-line. Payment of the Equipment & Facilities fee, training and certification is required before our equipment and facilities can be reserved.

Availability: Our studio and editing suites are available for community producer by appointment Wednesdays and Fridays 12  pm - 8 pm, Thursday from 2 pm - 8 pm, Saturday from 12 p.m. -6 p.m. Portable equipment may be checked out Tuesday - Friday 11:30 a.m. - 6:30 pm

Our facilities and equipment include:

HIGH DEFINITION 4-CAMERA STUDIO

The studio has a 30 foot "green screen" wall and a professional lighting grid. There are two cameras with teleprompters and two cameras mounted on robotic pan-tilt heads that are operated in the control room.

Control room

The Control Room features a Ross Carbonite switcher, Expression graphics system, AJA KiPro hard drive recorders and a 24 channel Mackie audio board.

Portable Equipment for field production

Our portable field cameras are Sony AX2000 cameras. They record on SDHC cards. We have all the necessary accessories for successful recording including tripods, microphones, and portable lighting kits.

Editing Platforms

We use Apple MacIntosh computers as our edit platforms with Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premier editing software.

In addition to the desktop models in our edit suites, we have several laptops that are loaded with the same software.
